I recently picked up this card in a TCDB trade, it was part of the offering. I had never seen, nor heard of, Stars'n Stripes before. It's a nice-looking design, and even though Singleton is in his Arizona uniform it's a nice addition to the Patriots collection.
Produced as a 90-card set by Asher Candy in 1990 and distributed as a box with 8 cards and 2 candy sticks. The other Patriot in the set, Johnny Rembert, I'll have to track down.
This is what the box would have looked like:
Anyone remember these?

ReplyDeleteI remember buying some of those at card shows. Needed to find the Browns cards. Loved the candy.

ReplyDeletea. Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteb. I remember seeing these at Thrifty's when I worked there in high school. I'm sure I opened a few back then, but those are long gone now. I feel like I have a factory set of these. It might be the 1991 set though. Not 100% sure.
Glad to se you blogging again!
ReplyDeleteGood to see you back blogging!
ReplyDeleteI used to really like those start and stripes cards. Pretty sure I have a set of those somewhere.
Welcome back!!
ReplyDeletePretty sure I have some NY Giants kicking around!
Welcome back, Tom! I have exactly zero cards from this set because it doesn't include any of my PC guys, but it looks like a fun oddball item.
ReplyDeleteHey! I'm glad that you commented on my blog so I could update everything. It's nice to have you back!
